Experience at an international school creates excellent opportunities for professional development.
Vietnam is a very safe country for travelling. Foreigners are welcome and the teaching profession is traditonally regarded very highly.
Be it culture, mountains, islands, sandy beaches and turquoise water, culinary diversity, sports or leisure activities: Vietnam has it all.
IGS offers you support in finding accommodation and attractive contract conditions, during your employment.
Learning in small groups, a green campus, and a great atmosphere at the school allows individual support of pupils. Teachers are learning guides and partners. At the same time, IGS offers numerous opportunities to help shape school life and school development.
IGS is more than a traditional school: It is a space for learning and experiencing for an international community: Bilingual school curriculum, an entry programme for children without German language skills, after-school activities and extra-curricular events such as concerts reflect this spirit.
My internship at the International German School in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam was a complete success! The expectations I had before starting the internship were far exceeded and my work at the school encouraged me to continue on my path as a teacher. Small classes, great team spirit amongst colleagues, and the support of the school management and my mentors have made the internship a very special one.
I could imagine returning to this school at the drop of a hat. At this juncture, I would like to thank all my colleagues at the school for the great time I had at IGS!
When I think back to my time at IGS, I remember the many adventures I had with my pupils and colleagues. I am thinking of the colourful festivals which we as teachers prepared to put a smile on the children’s faces. Singing together in the school choir, the recordings of a CD in the recording studio, the big concerts in front of an international audience, the great time with the parents and teachers’ choir. For me as a music teacher, it was great to see that children’s creativity, independent thinking, and the arts are very important at this school.
The contact with the international parents and cooperation partners of the school, and the organisation of school festivals in a completely different cultural space were an enriching challenge for me and have above all contributed to the strengthening of my personality as a teacher. In addition, there was a strong and supportive team for every challenge which always gave you the necessary backup when needed.
The fascinating landscape of Vietnam, the friendliness of the people, and the numerous experiences with my own class are also a great reminder of my time there which I would not like to miss for anything.
“Working where others go on holidays.” All year round, the south of the country is pampered with temperatures of 25 to 35 degree Celsius. Endless beaches, dreamlike islands, mountains with coffee plantations, and miles of rivers define the landscapes outside the pulsating metropolis Ho Chi Minh City. The country’s economic boom is particularly noticeable in the major cities. Despite the momentum of the upturn, the cost of living remains below the European average.
