Section of a heart in grade 8
Medical students who have studied the structure and function of the heart in the anatomy atlas or on a model, often experience it as a great challenge to recognize what they have previously learned in their preparation.
In order to get a realistic idea of the structure and function of the heart, Class 8 dissected the heart of a pig again this year. After an external examination, professional cuts were made and the muscles folded outwards.
Anatomical structures of the heart were identified and labeled. The position of the chambers, valves and vessels, as well as the direction of flow of the oxygen-poor and oxygen-enriched blood, were marked with red and blue woollen threads.
