U6 language groups

This week the U6 section started with the new language groups. The preschool children are now divided into two groups, in which the development of each child in the area of German language skills is taken into account. This makes it possible to work more intensively with the children and in an even more needs-oriented manner.
The children enjoy two consecutive preschool units, alternating between Mr. Foxius and Mrs. Kiefer’s classroom. In one unit, the focus is on phonological awareness and the expansion of vocabulary, while in the other unit, the acquired knowledge is revised, deepened and consolidated in a playful way. The children are supported and motivated by the cuddly toy, Wuppi, the extra-terrestrial, who accompanies them through the year.

Wuppi is supposed to become king on his home planet. But he can only do that if he learns the German language. Unfortunately, Wuppi finds it very difficult to listen. The task of the children is to help Wuppi with listening and thus with learning the German language.
The children accepted Wuppi enthusiastically and worked intensively in the individual units. All in all, it was a successful start in the language groups for the children, teachers and Wuppi.
