Group 4 Project for IB Class

All IB science students have the chance to complete a Group 4 Project as part of the required IB Group 4 (Science) practical program. The following elements are expected from the Group 4 Project: interdisciplinary collaboration, appreciation of the implications of science and the limitations of scientific study, development of teamwork, development of planning skills, and an exchange of data collected and issues raised.
In this project, students are part of a multidisciplinary team studying a particular science topic within the same theme. The team consists of 5 students, with a mixture of science disciplines represented. This year’s task is to build a Rube Goldberg machine that includes biological, chemical, physical events and lasts for a minimum of 1.0 min. All machines should make a sound to signify that they have finished.
After 2 planning sessions the students will have the opportunity to build their Rube Goldberg machine within two half days. These project days will take place in November 2022. We will keep you updated.
